The Diversifying into Horticulture Programme is designed to offer support to Welsh farmers, landowners, growers and others who are considering diversification into plant and vegetable production. It’s also an opportunity for current growers considering a different business model to learn more about alternative options or explore new ideas for their current business.

Cywain is a business-led programme dedicated to developing new and existing micro businesses and small and medium sized enterprises in the Welsh food and drink sector. Cywain (meaning to gather or to harvest), focuses on maximising opportunities and growth potential. In this session,

Nerys Davies and Jayne Jones explained how Cywain can help your business be more competitive, sustainable and innovative by providing marketing and business strategy advice, branding, identity and social media support and supply chain management and business plans. They discussed how Cywain can help your products reach new markets and the opportunities to strengthen links between your business and the supply chain.

We also heard from Debbie Handley from Mostyn Kitchen Garden, who has successfully developed her market garden and horticulture business with support and opportunities from Cywain.
